Wow! What a simple, amusing mistake :-)
Your channel made me fall in love with the Dobsonian and I purchased my first 10” today 🎉
Hey congrats! Nice telescope
you really only need 2-3 eyepieces in the long term. I have like 20 eyepieces I only use a 70mm, 40mm, a 25mm, and maybe a 15mm. high magnification is usually not what you want
High magnification is the most spectacular views i have. Seeing and darkness dependant as well as a set up that can handle it of course
@@DobsonianPower if you are seeing planets yes but basically anything else you want low magnification for a brighter image and wider fov
Where is the Earth in your map
Have been visually observing with vintage equatorially mounted Celestron scopes (the first-ever C5, and a Classic 8) since 1984. IMHO, nothing is so thrilling as visual observing :-) through quality scopes with premium eyepieces. However, I'm a bit tired of polar aligning and manually dialing in RA/Dec coordinates--so, am now about to buy an Evolution 8 Edge HD GoTo telescope :-) for more convenient visual observing. Finally, because I'm old, I can also afford to buy almost whatever I like. What would you do?
not bad but i would rather buy a go-to 12" (or larger) dobsonian and make it permanent, Always at the same place so you don't have to move anything. Ready to go.
Why don't you compare it with Hubble Space telescope or James Webb? This is pure insanity.
Thank you Tiago 🙏😍

Damn again missed it
it's the time zone
@@DobsonianPower Yes but was watching Portugal play lol
200 million yrs old but new for us. Not sure if this. Is correct but this super nova happened when dinosaurs where just showing up on earth.
yes, the Late Triassic to Early Jurassic periods
@@DobsonianPower apsalutly Amazing !
It's blown 5 C class and 5 M class flares in the past 5 days, it's held it's size 1100M sq km it's an EKC, it's a beta/gamma/ delta formation and I reckon it will blow its first X, (possibly a 5) in the next 12 hours or so..🙄
What is the dimensions of the spring? I don’t know if 40mm is too tall or not
you should measure your distance. Anyway you can cut them with a metal saw if needed and the opposite, add washers to fullfill
I got a Meade DS-114 and can’t seem to get it into focus. I have a diagonal and a 25mm eyepiece in it. I end up running out of room to rack the focuser all the way in. When I take off the diagonal and just insert the eyepiece, I do have enough room to focus it. I can’t do this with higher magnification eyepieces through because I run out of room. Is there anything I could do to resolve this?
don't use the diagonal and find a way to fit all the eyepieces. different ways possible.to help you, post a picture on my discord so we can see exactly how you have things mounted
Nearly 4 × more greater in distance as is the Virgo Cluster of Galaxies from Earth... Wow!!😮
Mind blowing
I am planning on using my heavy duty Slik Tripod. Is there a reason you prefer a table? I get my SW 150 Virt on Friday and I have parts coming so I don't have to use the crappy focuser.
I don't want to risk on a tripod. The scope is too robust.
Thankyou, you guys out there for our information and readiness. Looks like the whole 🌎 Earth is about cause serious problems in the coming days. We need to take this seriously and prepare for the worst Ever Events over the Horizon in the coming days. Only God the Creator of all existence knows why and when and what is going on. God bless your Earth.
i don't think we're in danger
Thanks Tiago.

@@DobsonianPower obrigado
Observing and appreciating the Universe are very worthwhile activities that put everything into perspective. A great video, and wonderful sentiments; thank you, Tiago. 🙏
Yes! Thank you!
Might be okay, but not in bad sky with severe cataracts.
that's not good, but could be even worse
Right :) i watched the Sky for Years without a Telescope, i love. My Telescope is for me to watch the Mooncraters and Maare, Planets and the Sun especially!
Amazing
@@DobsonianPower i was 1997 so excited as Shoemaker Levy 9 was shattered by Jupiter and then the impacts i was a little boy then, i also saw Hale Bob and the Sun Eclipse 1999. My Parents giftet me and my Brothers a Telescop but we all wasn't able to see anything 😬😬😬 no knowledge about to use a telescop :D was damn frustrating for me little Stepcke 😁
@@Rootori4 those Jupiter impacts should have been amazing to watch. I was completely disconnected back that time :(
@@DobsonianPower defintive, for sure, i was also not able to see it through a telescope. I would say that the Time for you was not ready back than, but know you are and you share your Knowledge and Equipment with us, eventually there will be another Meteroid like Shoemaker Levi 9 :) we see what the Future has to offer for us 💜
@@Rootori4 yep. The time is now

Hi
Welcome
Funny you said that ,i did the exact same thing when i was lining my finder scope up with the main scope on my 12mm televue eyepiece lmao at myself when i realized what was wrong 😂 😂😂
I'm glad i was not the only one!
So.... should i bother getting a uv/ir filter?
That depends
@DobsonianPower it looks like the baader filter is a all-in-one solution? If I buy one, is it useless to get a UV/IR filter? Thanks...
@fpanadero2626 yes, the baader has ir cut incorporated. You have recommended links to buy it on my page dobsonianpower.com/

@@DobsonianPower Oh dear than its another one and they say things regarding our sun and I always wonder if that is normal or not? Scary thoughts!!!
@michelleluster9723 it happens every 11 years, the solar maximum activity
Dobsonian power
Truly enchanting! Supernova 2024IG is exploding at a distance of more than 200 million light years from Earth. Through the Dobsonian telescope, we can clearly see the separation between the galaxy's core and the exploding star. This is an extremely rare and miraculous phenomenon, showing a huge explosion of energy from a star. Watching a supernova and sunspots at the same time is an amazing experience. The level of detail and the way everything is explained makes astronomy accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks 👍
@@DobsonianPower Thank you Tiago !
So it actually happened how many centuries ago?

Thank you for your hard work!!!🎉

Thanks Tiago work out good

aaaand it's gone.
What a nice Stream @ChrisGreen thank you for Service 💛🤗
HI, I have never had collimation problems, but now I find myself, after replacing the refractor with the Newtonian on the star mount, stretching the edges in a different way that I didn't have before. With the Concenter collimator I did everything described in your video, but the stars, as already mentioned, are terrible. What could I have done wrong? Thanks and bye.
That should be coma, normal in a newtonian and the use of a coma corrector fix it. But may be other issue. If you post a picture of the set up and the stars on my discord i can help you fix that
@@DobsonianPower In the meantime, thanks for the quick response. The coma corrector is there and there is also the right backfocus at almost 56mm (since there are 2" filters mounted in the middle). My setup is as follows: Asi294 camera, home-built field rotator, motorized ZWO 5x 2" filter wheel and coma corrector. The problem is that with the same setup reassembled on the mount after using a 102mm refractor for a period, I find myself with this problem that wasn't there before under the same conditions. I don't quite understand where I should upload the photos for you to see, maybe if you can give me a link to upload them, I'll thank you.
